Things have been rather quiet of late photography wise, but for good reason. I have relocated to Vancouver, Canada. The past couple of months have seen me busy preparing for the move and figuring out what to cram into my suitcases. It's a pretty daunting undertaking moving half way across the world, but boy, its pretty exciting. It was also a necessity unfortunately, there are far greater career opportunities here for both my partner and I than in Ireland. Anyway, I'm very much looking forward to exploring the Canadian landscape and all that the Pacific coast has to offer photography wise.I've pretty much settled down now in Vancouver so over the next few months I plan to bring you some cracking Canadian captures! In the mean time here are a few shots of the city I'll be calling home for the next couple of years.
Vancouver at night, as seen from Cypress Mountain. There is an abundance of mountains within a short drive of Vancouver, many of which provide stunning views of the city.
Fisherman on Kitsilano Beach.
A fisherman watches out over the Pacific and waits for a bite as the sun sets. I have the pleasure of living a stone's throw away from this beautiful beach.
Downtown from the air.
I was lucky enough to be treated to a sightseeing flight around the city, which provided absolutely stunning views and a unique perspective on the city. Here you can see "downtown" Vancouver (centre image) Stanley Park (centre left) and North Vancouver in the Background. The B.C. Place (B.C. Lions and Vancouver Whitecaps) and Rodgers Arenas (Vancouver Canucks) can be seen centre right for all you sports fans.
